Back-story: Captain had always been… well… a captain. And not just because that was his name, either. From the time he was a puppy, he showed superior leading skills to his siblings. But, the problem was, he was always the scrawniest of the puppies. He was kind of a weakling, kind of tiny… well, overall, he was just the runt. But, that didn’t stop Captain from trying to wrestle his siblings into submission!
As Captain grew older, he realized his size stopped him from doing a lot of things he wanted to do; like joining the war. He desperately wanted to help his country, but his size stopped him. But, he didn’t let up. He kept trying. Eventually, his work paid off in that a man seen him and Captain sparked his interest. Upon meeting the man, it was explained to Captain that, if he could at least do some of the initial training, it may be possible to turn him into a super soldier.
Of course, who wouldn’t accept this offer! And, Cap was no exception. He accepted the offer without a backward glance and followed the man to the training grounds. He was smirked at, scoffed at, ridiculed… If it could be done, it was to the poor guy. Along the way though, Captain met his love, an officer named Peggy. He thought she was just the commanding officer, but weeks later when he was taken to become the super soldier, there she stood.
After the serum was entered into his veins, a change overcame Captain. He was no longer that “loyal, brave, leader like scrawny kid.” He was still loyal, brave and leader like, but now he was the size, and then some, of a leader! After exiting the room, he was faced with his first challenge, and all he did was smile at the beautiful Peggy and start pursuing his first victim—er…. criminal.

Cap strolled down the street, idle and calm. He made his way towards the small restaurant where he and his gorgeous mate, Peggy, would be meeting for a lovely lunch; where they would then make their way to a movie and park stroll, dinner and home. They each had been waiting for this day for months, but every time they went for it, something popped up. Cap was nervous this was going to be the case again.
He approached the restaurant, a small Chinese restaurant that declared they were ‘open’, and sighed as he heard the scream. “Every time.” He muttered under his breath as he turned to see where the source of this noise was coming from. Peggy raced out and stood beside him, her ears signaled forward, also listening.
When they pin-pointed the noise, it was found that it was at the dock; where it could’ve just been a playful noise, so they agreed to go eat. But, as soon as they turned, another ear-splitting shriek crackled through the air. Cap looked sadly at his mate, but she just looked at him and firmly said, “Go.” He nuzzled her once, then his paws took him on a flight through town, towards the dock.
He arrived after just moments and looked around, then he seen the source of the screaming. A man was running up and down the dock, mugging people with a gun! Cap raced towards him, a low snarl emitting from his mouth. He launched himself at the perpetrator and pinned him. The man attempted to wiggle away from the now ferocious beast and… of course, didn’t manage it.
They rolled for a few moments with Cap on top. The man had some strength in his bones, but not nearly enough to defy the German Shepherd of what he wanted. The man finally gave up, realizing he could not win this battle, and would just have to wait for the authorities.
Cap sat on him, with little to no effort, until the authorities arrived. Looking up at the sky, he knew he had missed their movie. But, he looked over towards the water and there stood his mate. He smiled and trotted over, and they still took their stroll; just with sand under their paws.
